Are you sure everyone you know is really who they say they are?

by on December 28th, 2010

Today’s trivia question:  Can you name more than three female action heroes NOT played by Angelina Jolie?   (see my answers at the bottom of this post)

Jolie has a corner on action hero market, and she has earned it.   If you crossed James Bond, MacGyver, and Lara Croft you’d get Evelyn Salt.

The plot of Salt is deceptively simple.   Evelyn Salt is a CIA agent, currently working in Washington.   A Russian man comes in to the CIA and says that he knows of some Russian sleeper agents planted in the USA, and one of them is about to do something very very bad.  And that person’s name Evelyn Salt.

If I tell you any more that that it might ruin it.  And this movie is just more fun to watch than read about.    Since its a thriller, Salt has some wicked chase scenes, a few bone-crunching fight scenes, amazing camera angles that just might make your head spin, more than a few explosions and and enough hand-held firepower to make many small countries jealous.  There are enough twists and turns in this movie that I don’t want to give anything away.

If you’re a fan of action adventures or thrillers, or of Angeline Jolie, you’ll like this one.

*It took some thinking, but here are my trivia question answers:   Sigourney Weaver (Aliens),  Linda Hamilton (Terminator),  Halle Berry (X Men),  and Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger)
