Jane Green’s newest book is the story of families, friendship, and discovering the life you want to live.  Callie and Steffi are sisters.  Callie is living a dream life in the suburbs and has a wonderful husband, family and career.  On the other hand, sister Steffi has never settled down although she has discovered a passion for working as a chef.  Other characters include Lila, who is struggling to create a new life after being downsized, and the sister’s divorced parents who are each lonely but too stubborn to reconnect.

I have thoroughly enjoyed Jane Green’s recent books.  She seems to have rediscovered her passion for writing and the outcome is a story with depth, good character development and a strong sense of place.  Promises to Keep is a great summer read.  ~~Enjoy~~
