I was pleasantly surprised with Jane Green’s new book The Beach House. Recently I blogged about Jane Green’s Swapping Lives and Second Chance and commented that the books felt a bit “cookie cutter.” Her newest novel reminds me of my favorite books by Rosamunde Pilcher and Maeve Binchy.
The story is set in Nantucket. Nan is 65 and at a crossroads. She loves her home; however, she is cash strapped and must sell the house or find a way to earn some money. On a whim she decides to set up a bed a breakfast. Soon her home is filled with guests and Nan is reminded of earlier, happier years. All of the guests have life issues but the magic of Nantucket helps clear the fog and leads each onto a road of self discovery and peace. ~~Enjoy~~
