Le Fil (2005) is the second solo album by French singer/songwriter Camille. This is the first I’ve heard of her work and I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a fairly standard Euro-pop sound, but her voice has a very warm quality and she uses it in inventive, and sometimes daring, ways. Some standout tracks are Assise, Pour Que l’Amour Me Quitte, and Janine III. Camille won 2 French Grammys for this album. I’d say it’s definitely worth a listen.
